Summary, etc El presente estudio muestra resultados optimistas. Ha habido movimiento en una dirección positiva en relación a los valores democráticos. Entre 1993 y 1995, la población indígena se mostró más dispuesta a dar apoyo al sistema político y la población ladina se mostró más tolerante hacia el disenso político. No obstante, todavía falta camino por recorrer. En el aspecto de proyección hacia el futuro, existen indicios derivados del estudio de que las inversiones en la organización social serían beneficiosas para un esfuerzo de fortalecimiento de la democracia en Guatemala. Hay también indicios que permiten pensar que la atención al mejoramiento de los gobiernos municipales produciría apoyo a la democracia.
